Volunteers at the RAAC are very important
To become a volunteer, all you need to do is fill out two forms, one is a liability waiver and the other is an informational sheet letting us know a little bit about who you are and what jobs you are comfortable performing. From there, it is just a matter of showing up here at the Center. We require that anyone under the age of 15 be accompanied by an adult when volunteering.
Some of the jobs volunteers participate in include rescue transport, dog and cat socialization, yard work, fundraising, and cleaning kennels. The cats and dogs love to have people just come and spend time petting and talking to them. It is very important for the welfare of the animals to have this one on one time. Walking the dogs is also an enjoyable way to excercise yourself! Plus, studies show that petting a soft furry living being like one of a our many beautiful cats is great therapy for anyone! So, by volunteering not only do the four-legged animals benefit, but so do you. And, who knows, you may just fall in love and take home an addition to your family!
